Just ahead of Carers Week, imagine this.......

You're doing well in your career. Working hard, growing, contributing, maybe finally getting recognised for your efforts. Then one phone call, one diagnosis, one accident, or even a gradual decline changes everything.

Someone you love becomes seriously ill, disabled, or can no longer fully care for themselves.

Suddenly, life becomes a daily juggling act. How do you pay the bills whilst being there for someone who needs you? How do you meet your commitments at work whilst caring for someone you love? How do you continue to progress your career when you have much less time and energy?

And perhaps the hardest question of all: how do you stop yourself from disappearing completely?

That was the question that resonates most deeply: What about you?

Working carers don't just become exhausted. Their own health can suffer, their needs go unmet, and guilt often becomes a constant companion.

In the UK, nearly 3 million people combine paid work with unpaid caring responsibilities, and around 1 in 7 employees is balancing work and care. Shockingly, more than 600 people leave employment every day because the pressure becomes impossible to sustain. People who are often at the height of their career, and of most value to their employer or business.

Behind every statistic is a person trying to do two full-time jobs at once, as best as they can.

To every working carer navigating this balancing act every day: it takes extraordinary strength, commitment and love. If you're walking this path, you're not alone, even though it can often feel that way.
